A 44-paged booklet surrounding Migration, the concept of going from one place to another, no matter the distance or form. Migration is inherently engraved in us as a society, yet with today’s administration, it has been demonized and looked down on. I wanted to break that stigma by humanizing and normalizing to counteract the administration’s opinion on immigration.

Bulls are fearesome and beautiful. Their resistence is what makes them strong and that’s what contributed to making this Chine Colle in the height of ICE protests in DTLA.

A group mainly made up of women who are strangers to each other is called Guerreros Buscadores. They dedicate themselves to searching for and locating missing people, whether dead or alive. They had received an anonymous tip that a ranch in Teuchitlan, located just outside of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco, may contain human remains. The ranch was being run by Cartel Jalisco Nuevo Generacion (Jalisco New Generation Cartel). On March 5th of 2025, they released photos of the discovered mass grave and alleged crematorium located at the ranch. They uncovered around 200 pairs of shoes, clothing items, burnt/cremated remains, empty bullet castings, and three underground ovens. This was a more informational and brinigng awareness to the topic of forced disappearences in Mexico.

This was about the theme of layers. Criminal cases that involve a government have layers to it that have yet to be uncovered fully.  On September 26, 2023 - Nine years ago today, 43 Mexican college students were violently abducted and disappeared by police and drug traffickers in the town of Iguala, Guerrero. As the families of the missing boys mark another wrenching anniversary and the investigation in Mexico grinds on, the National Security Archive takes a look at the declassified record on Ayotzinapa in the United States and asks, Why has the U.S. government released so little information about this case? Using the Riso machine, I layered on parts of this case with the shape of those involved at the forefront.

With the topic of climate crisis/change, I made a poster on Hurrican Otis and its impact on Mexico. The warmer the sea, the deadlier a hurricane will be. This piece represents Hurricane Otis and its damage to Acapulco Mexico, it lasted 3 days from October 22-25th last year. It was a category 5 hurricane that resulted in 48 deaths or more, 26 and more to be missing, and over 250,000 homes affected, the population at the time was 900,000, they were hit with winds of 205 miles per hour. The warmer hues were used to depict the severity and its impact, while the cool hue was to represent the isolation felt after the impact of Hurricane Otis.

A political commentary collage piece based off what Los Angeles City Council members had discussed behind closed doors in a leaked audio clip. I presented the detrimental effect colorism has on children, with this incident they made various derogatory comments towards many communities, and one of them being mine, the Oaxacan community which primarily is made up of indigenous groups. With the collage, on one eye we see the community itself and some protesters smiling while on the other it focuses more on the incident itself with city council members in office and building. The child is seen trying to reject what she sees and how people view her with surrounding eyes and shapes that label her some derogatory phrases.
